The Ed Rollins Michele Bachmann Truth tour continues. Last week, Rollins (Bachmann’s campaign manager until recently) criticized his former candidate for refusing to apologize for her claim that the HPV vaccine Gardasil causes retardation in numerous interviews.
On Monday, he revealed that Bachmann probably won’t survive in the race past Iowa.
The Hawkeye State — which launched Bachmann into the top tier of the nomination fight just a few short weeks ago — was always the hail-Mary pass for Bachmann, Rollins told MSNBC. It’s win there or go home.
“If she somehow for some reason could win Iowa than she could get another look,” he said, explaining the campaign’s strategy. “Right now she’s competing hard in Iowa. She doesn’t have the ability or resources to go beyond that.”
Rollins has said he’s still an adviser to Bachmann and still has “great affection” for her candidacy.
