Unlike Herman Cain or Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney doesn’t sit down for television interviews too often. And after an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier earlier this week, it’s easy to see why.
The perennial Republican candidate was exasperated and a bit hostile when Baier challenged him on his previous positions. Romney told Baier to “read the tape” of his past positions to see that he hasn’t flip-flopped as much as Baier claimed.
“First of all, you don’t read tapes,” Stewart said Thursday. “Second of all, I’m sure if you read it long enough it says what you are saying now, because it takes you into present day where you have completely changed your positions.”
So where have we seen this evasive and defensive attitude in the face of tough questions, Stewart asked. Well, Herman Cain, of course.
“Just like Herman Cain, Mitt Romney has an embarassing person in his past who he’s desperately trying to hide,” Stewart said. “For Herman Cain, it’s a woman named Ginger White. For Mitt Romney, it’s Mitt Romney.”
It makes sense, Stewart added, because they say opposites attract.

thewodmJohnPidaras Conservatives are notorious for their lack of a sense of humor. Hell, they think Ann Coulter is funny.
When Willard "Mitt" Romney was informed that the Republican Party wanted to run a woman for president, He asked for two weeks to begin hormone treatments and two months to recover from the surgery.
While I think Romney is a terrible candidate and would be an even worse POTUS, running for the office in two cycles doesn't make one a perennial candidate.
Just sayin'
Nails Romney perfectly (not that that's difficult). Great catch on the Bush book; it's all the little lies like that that the MSM never notices.
Romney is just paraphrasing something like what Keynes said about changing his views when the facts change. Romney says, " why sir, when my constituency changes I change my views. what do you do?"
Isit possible for TPM to upload a QuickTime version of their videos for all us Apple user who don't have Flash?
jdanner46 Even better, they should use HTML5. But in this case I think they are limited by the original source.
idlemind Is there any site that *currently* uses HTML5? Because I've never seen one.
midnight rambleridlemind Apparently you choose to live in the real world. In the paradigm world of UTOPIA, HTML5 is universally used by every platform.
jdanner46 Avoid Apple products - they are derivative and closed products, designed to extract $$$from their customers and then leave them wanting. Purchase open products that are adaptable to technology. You get more for your increasing the brain power used prior to the purchase and spend less time attempting to solve problems created by your purchase choice.
Jon is right. And always funny.
Kinda reminds me of how President Obama flipped on the Iraq war.
