The Ron Paul campaign appears to have removed a press release touting the endorsement of Rev. Phillip G. Kayser, a Nebraska pastor who has called for instituting the death penalty against homosexuals.
As TPM reported on Wednesday, Paul’s Iowa chair Drew Ivers praised the fundamentalist leader in a campaign release in which he specifically credited Kayser with “the enlightening statements he makes on how Ron Paul’s approach to government is consistent with Christian beliefs.”
As of this evening, however, the press release has been removed from the Ron Paul for President website, apparently in response to the earlier article. The content of the release is still available, however, as blogger Doug Mataconis recorded the text and posted a screenshot on his website.
The Paul campaign has not responded to repeated requests for comment on Kayser (including an additional request this evening for comment on the removal of the press release) and the role of anti-gay activists in the campaign. Mike Heath, Paul’s Iowa state director, for example, chaired Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, whose anti-gay campaigns led them to be condemned as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. According to a recent press release, Heath has visited 295 churches on behalf of the Paul campaign to promote the candidate’s message in the religious community.
Paul is currently facing intense scrutiny over a series of newsletters he published in the 1980s and the 1990s that, among other homophobic passages, warned of a “federal-homosexual coverup on AIDS.” Paul claims he had no knowledge of the newsletters’ content, even as they were published under his name.

Wow. No attack of the R*n P**l Fanboys.
pshipkey The Ron Paul troll was too busy creating a half dozen fake accounts and creating fake screen names to doppelganging regular posters here and screaming obscenities to itself in two earlier threads, to come up for air and see this Ron Paul story with comments allowed again.
Lestatdelc
I just saw them in one of the other threads.
Lestatdelc
Oh...i know you're from Oregon. My folks live in Lake Oswego...
I always try to find something positive in everybody. So if nobody else will, I'll put in a good word for Ron Paul.
He has put together some awesome Gingrich attack ads!!!
Ron Paul seems to be a very weird guy. In the news is: Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul defended his record on Israel Wednesday after a former aide said the congressman favored abolishing the nation. http://bit.ly/rJaiwb
dontemistocles Scroll down the thread and read about Paul saying, even in retrospect, he would do nothing to stop the holocaust during World War II.
i have a FB friend who is an RP supporter...and every time he posts about RP, i call him on all the massive amounts of BS...and all his friends get all super butthurt because they're rabid RP fanboys...some of them have threatened to defriend him strictly to not have to deal with me anymore...
personally...i was expecting the guy to defriend me waaaay before now...but he hasn't, so i continue to point out every single instance where his and his fanboy friends brains have ceased to function...and it makes me lol...
but...when it comes down to it, RP fanboys can be thought of as "the faithful"...and when faith enters the equation, you can say goodbye to reason, logic, critical thinking...pretty much anything factually based
sigh...apologists
A Republican candidate has ties to a stridently anti-gay/anti-catholic/anti-semitic/anti-islam/anti-mormon/anti-illegal immigrant/anti-black/ fundamentalist born again Pastor?
I'm shocked...
Funny story in the NY TImes today, "Marching Orders for Paul’s Volunteers: Do Shave, Don’t Tweet."
"And [supporters] say they are under strict orders: To look, dress, shave, sound and behave in a way that will not jeopardize Mr. Paul’s chances ... Josh Plotkin, 21, an American who traveled from his job in Brazil, said ... 'It’s 500 college kids away from home and who are volunteering not to drink.'"

Mickey Bitsko I like this part:
"Rocco Lucente, said as he ticked off the rules after arriving at the airport Tuesday night. No liquor, no drugs..."
...who said irony was dead?
Lestatdelc I wonder how many of them are Moonies?
Mickey Bitsko Getting clean for Gene..err Ron.
It wasn't Ron Paul who removed the references to Rev. Kayser from his website. It was Them, I tell you. I saw them--they swooped down with some strange device and--whoosh!--all of sudden the website was blank. But I caught a glimpse of their uniforms. No doubt about it--it said "Mossad" plain as day. Well actually it wasn't written in English, but I can read Jewish so I could tell it was them. But I know one thing--they are afraid. They are afraid of Dr. Paul and of Rev. Kayser too, since they know these brave men are onto them and their plan to make us use Jewish homosexual beads instead of American dollars. Uh-oh, I've got to run--now they're after me, too.
Bwahahahaha.
Rudko over in the Donal Trump thread ran down whose random black guy photo Nobbama2012 lifted.
Lestatdelc Please explain. ;-)
Doremus Jessup 2.0 Note the photo of the complainant in that smoking gun article, then look at the Ronulan troll in the other threads named Nobbama2012's avatar.
Lestatdelc There was never any question that Nobby is a fake. I think he's the id jacker.
Doremus Jessup 2.0 "I think he's the id jacker."
As do I.
Doremus Jessup 2.0Lestatdelc Man, it's hard on a troll around here.
I wonder if that guy in the pic will get his money back..
moodpostLestatdelc I started to say 'the guy who's paying him should get a refund' but then I thought 'he's pretty effective at destroying the threads with the fewest possible words'. So, hat's off to Nobby.
Doremus Jessup 2.0moodpostLestatdelc Ignore these poor suckers. That's the worse thing you can do to them.
GAboymoodpostLestatdelc p.s. please flag the impostor.
Doremus Jessup 2.0 Just checked it out. These guys remind me of the psychotic guy on the corner talking to himself. They crop up with some inane and off the wall shit just to get a response. I guess the only point in feeding them is the fun factor. Like throwing a chicken carcass into a pen of alligators. Funny how they change a letter to namejack someone and go off on their spew, like no one on here would know the difference.
Doremus Jessup 2.0moodpostLestatdelc Flag engaged.
Doremus Jessup 2.0moodpostLestatdelc BTW, what is the most effective flag, spam? offensive? stars and bars? don't tread on me?
GAboymoodpostLestatdelc It's offensive to me.
Lestatdelc I was wondering if someone would eventually find the source for that photo. Good job, Rudko!
Mickey BitskoLestatdelc So from here on out do we refer to him a Hubert, then giggle when he can't figure it out?
davidasrMickey Bitsko LOL works for me.
I believe we should execute anyone who calls for the execution of anyone 'cause it says so in the Bible. I would be happy to cast the first kumquat.
Small axe See, this is just the sort of hyperbole that is KILLING AMERICA!
Small axe EXTREMISTS should be SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!
BwakfatSmall axe I want that on a bumper sticker.
Bwakfat
I think all righthtinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired.
I'm certainly not!
And I'm sick and tired of being told that I am.
Lestatdelc I'm convinced that the vast majority of wrong-thinking people are right!
midnight rambler I would like to ask the panel... what changes they would make, if they were Hitler.
midnight rambler CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
The Ronulan troll has name-jacked you in another thread.
Lestatdelc Wow, do you know what this means?! I'm Somebody!!! Millions of people read this site every day! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity that makes people!
midnight rambler Yep. Certainly a Navin R. Johnson moment.
;-)
Lestatdelc Speaking personally, I'd annex the Sudetenland.
midnight rambler WHew. Was worried nobody would get that reference.
Lestatdelc Actually, I think I'd pay some Dutchman to set fire to Lord Snowdon.
(Okay, I had to look that one up. I never did understand it on the record.)
midnight ramblerLestatdelc You are somebody with an "l" in your name.
Bwakfat I prefer my shots to be extreme, and ice cold.
Small axe I know there are people in this world who do not love their fellow human beings, and I HATE people like that!
midnight rambler I love Tom Lehrer.
Lestatdelcmidnight rambler
You beat me to it! I was just about to name that source.
How is it that true believers can ignore evidence? Ron Paul is not fit for public office.
