Jon Stewart Loses His Marbles Over Newt’s Hypocrisy

Jon Stewart

Newt Gingrich is again the Republican presidential frontrunner. How exactly did that happen?

Jon Stewart on Monday practically lost his marbles over Newt Gingrich’s hypocrisy in a debate ahead of the South Carolina primary. Gingrich responded to a question about his infidelity by railing against negative media and CNN’s “despicable” question.

“You imagined your wife, while she was dealing with having MS, would be open to you having sex with another lady you’d already been having sex with for six fucking years!” Stewart said. “I think you’ve got a pretty good imagination dispicability-wise.”

So now the former Speaker of the House is running as an anti-establishment, Washington outsider. Huh?

“You are the Washington outsider,” Stewart said. “When Washington gets its prostate checked, it tickles you.”

Jon Stewart has just become so agitated and bitter. It's kind of sad. I liked that guy.

WHY CAN'T GINGRICH HOLD A LEAD, By AMBASSADOR MO Newt is like that sports team that just when it gains the momentum and looks headed for the win, drops the ball. He lost Florida after having rolled in on South Carolina surge. Before than, he took a late lead in Iowa only to badly fumble all the way through the concession speech. --MORE-- http://diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post...

Gingrich wrote the book on "despicable".

I think that the people who look at Newt for answers are the ones whose marbles are lost. When he called King despicable King should have responded "I think it's pretty obvious who the despicable one is in this scenario".

Baruch Zeichner 17 pts

That Gingrich can say what he does with a straight face is just incredible. It takes a mighty big narcissist to be such an incredible hypocrite.

mlin47sr 9 pts

It's astonishing how the 'family values' audience went into a frenzy applauding such a hypocrite and the moderator just standing there with a look of a school kid getting caught and seemingly blaming others. Pathetic Mr. King and lacking any intestinal fortitude without at least challenging Newt's outrageous charge of being a victim of the mean press. What a precious moment of yet another display of collective hypocrisy had by all at this event. What's more, Newts ludicrous contention of having witnesses to say otherwise as to his 'open relationship' with his last wife (2nd) and then only to say that his two daughters from his first wife- can come forward to defend his character and to try to pull the airing of an interview by ABC by his accuser 2nd wife?) Yeah, right-his girls has no vested interest with destroying the woman who stole their father. Please!!!!

Hypocrisy is one of the three main food groups of the Republican intellectual diet, the other two being greed and social conservatism (code for racism, ethnocentrism, jingoism, and social darwinism). That Gingrich is having success with the Tea Party and the Evangelical Christians has more to do with their fear and self-deception (or inability to reason logically) than anything else. Snake oil salesmen have been successful throughout the centuries; clearly nothing has changed.

Brainspore 157 pts

Remember when there were questions about Clinton's sex life and Gingrich stepped in to tell everyone how despicable it was to even raise the question? Yeah, neither do I.

Stupidscript 189 pts

Brainspore It's only despicable when it's brought up during a Republican debate. When the comments are intended to destroy a sitting Democrat President and damage the global American image, it's okay. Make sense?

Eft Gingrich is an immature, blustering, arrogant, destructive blowhard. The fact that he is now the "Christian Conservative" candidate is a sad, sad joke. Let's just say that the Bible is anathema to his entire essence.

Ps. 140:12. "I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor."

"During the seventh year, let the land lie unplowed and unused. Then the poor among your people may get food from it, and the wild animals may eat what they leave. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove." Exodus 23:11

"If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother." Deuteronomy 15:7

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." Matthew 25:35

#@%& you, Eft.

TYPO alert: where you have Stewart saying “You are THE Washington outsider,” I believe you mean "insider."

Otherwise it really doesn't make any sense.

blurdlt2 10 pts

klg19 No thats his point. Newt says he's the Outsider when he has been on the inside for over 35 years

Kimmy Atzrott 5 pts

blurdlt2klg19 Jon does say that Newt is THE Washington Insider. And then calls him Washington's prostate. Not only does it not make sense to refer to him as a prostate if one is trying to agree that he's an outsider, but it also doesn't match what Jon actually says. klg19 is right.

I wonder if someone is ever going to ask Newt about his personal health? He looks like he's about one T-bone steak away from a triple-bypass surgery. How about the whole "personal responsibility" angle of the individual mandate? I'd like to see his cholesterol numbers...

serena1313 121 pts

wrightwingnutblanda_fan His Congressional pension, according to his tax disclosure, is $76,200. That is just his pension which BTW is included in the $3.16 million Newt made in 2010.

I wonder, do they get "cost of living" raises, too?

Gingrich is the kryptonite to the "family values" crowd. Their whole "sanctity of marriage" BS is exposed for what it is -- gay bashing and homophobia. They couldn't give a damn about the ACTUAL sanctity of marriage. And the Bible? Hell, they don't care about the Ten Commandments, which Gingrich has violated. (He also violated the expressed statements from JC himself, where he proclaims those who divorce and remarry as having committed adultery -- which Newt did anyway.) But hey, those explicit statements in the Bible condemning EXACTLY what Newt did ain't important to the evangelicals -- what matters is a few other lines taken out of context. Liars, frauds and hypocrites they are.

And can you imagine how off-the-wall nuts these hypocrites would go if any Democrat had a personal track record like Gingrich?

Newt will be the gift that keeps on giving, Exhibit A whenever these people vomit up their bile and hatred in the guise of "family values." And just add the word "Hypocrite" at the end of any reply.

wrightwingnut 656 pts

quicken66 Gnewt also perverts christianity by claiming he asked God's forgiveness, leaving out the confession of sin and asking of forgiveness from his wife (wives). I think Gnewt sees himself as a modern day Henry VIII (kinda looks like it).

Handy A lot of people who became rich themselves are, because they remember what it was like to not have money and what it took to make it. George Romney was like that. Unfortunately it's not heritable.

Romney's aura of arrogance or his arrogance of entitlement is a put-off.

Presumably by the time he was born his father was probably already fairly well-off which means Willard's realm of experience would be limited & narrow. If he never saw his father struggle, then it would in-part explain Mitt's aloofness & his inability to connect with or even understand muchless feel empathy for people who struggle every single day.

I get the distinct impression he was handed everything on a silver platter -- he did not go out and look for a job. His father had connections. At least that is how it works in Texas: it is not what you know, it is who you know.

In other words, midnightrambler hit the nail on the head.

JEP 3513 pts

All we have left is bitter humor to deal with this Republican primary reality TV show.

No amount of logic or reason can define this strange mess, with ghosts of ages past like Newt the Despicable rising from misty political graveyards to fill a political vacuum of historic proportions.

It is only funny because there is no other option.
