Dogs And Jogs: See The Best Photos From Rick Perry’s Twitter Feed

Rick Perry

After a disappointing fifth-place finish in Iowa, Texas Gov. Rick Perry took his presidential campaign full speed into South Carolina. And as TPM’s Evan McMorris-Santoro reports, it could be his campaign’s last stand.

In Iowa last week, Perry said he was taking time to “reassess” this campaign. Only hours later, he emphatically tweeted, “Here we come South Carolina!!!” But that wasn’t all. Attached to the tweet is a picture of the Texan in full jogging gear giving the thumbs up. Looking through his Twitter feed, it’s clear the conservative cross-trainer enjoys his jogs and his dogs. See some of his best photos below:

On Saturday, Perry tweeted this photo: “@peterhambycnn official challenge to make the Perry Running Team in South Carolina.”

From Perry’s famous tweet, announcing his move on the Palmetto State.

Perry takes a jog in West Des Moines.

Perry provided some inspirational words after a jog in Oskaloosa, Iowa: “Go get em today..whatever it may be!!”

Perry presented this photo of a dog without comment:

A couple days before Christmas, Perry took a jog with his dog, Rory, before wishing the Twitterverse happy holidays.

On December 19, Perry posted this photo of a run in Manchester, Iowa. Behind Perry appears the Delaware County Courthouse.

December 8, Perry poses with “Dixie,” a Boykin Spaniel, the state dog of South Carolina.

The same day, in South Carolina, Perry took a jog over a bridge.

Perry preps for a GOP debate on November 12 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

In late September, Perry with the “K-9 corps” in the Philadelphia Amtrak station.

It’s not a dog. And definitely not a jog, but just for good measure here is Perry in June 2010 with a giant lizard.
