Allen West: Obama Wants Americans ‘To Be His Slave’ (VIDEO)

Rep. Allen West (R-FL)

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) is dropping the S-word again.

Six months after he drew headlines for saying on the House floor that government programs supported by Democrats are the “most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today,” West is accusing the nation’s most prominent Democrat of wanting to enslave America.

From WPTV’s report on a West campaign event in Port Saint Lucie, Fla.:

“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. “He advocated for energy independence and criticized President Obama on a variety of issues, using phrases and language guaranteed to get attention.

“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He’d rather you be his slave,” said West.

West is a big fan of the slavery metaphor, and the tea party favorite uses them often. Back in August 2011 he referred to himself as “the modern-day Harriet Tubman”, leading black voters off the Democratic “plantation” run by “certain black leaders, who are nothing more than the overseers of that plantation.”

Update:

Here’s a longer clip of West’s “slave” remark in Port Saint Lucie, as edited by TheRightScoop:

That blog has video of West’s full speech here.
