Clint Eastwood’s Lecture To Empty Chair Makes Jon Stewart’s Day

Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart was feeling a bit down after a long week in Tampa at the Republican National Convention. But finally, Stewart said, “amidst the tired rhetoric, a fistful of awesome emerged in the night, where it spent 12 minutes on the most important night of Mitt Romney’s life yelling at a chair.”

Clint Eastwood, the convention’s surprise speaker on the last evening of the event, turned more than a few heads with his bizarre lecture to an empty chair meant to represent President Obama. Stewart, however, was more than satisfied.

“This is the most joy I’ve gotten from an old man since Dick Cheney non-fatally shot one in the face. Give me more!”
